Beaumont Hills

Open plan with breathtaking views.
The challenge was to make the most of the panorama offered by the steep section and to fit a contemporary luxury family home into a tight building envelope. The house is a stage for a modern life with freedom of choice, undefined boundaries, continuity between the exterior to the interior, light and darkness and a constant and intimate interaction with nature. Construction and detailing is elegant, precise and carefully thought out,but never over explained. The colors and materials for this building where chosen in order to create a sense/feeling of harmony, modernity and luxury while the sculptures of Gianni Aspras on the walls of the living rooms create abstract and modern warm emotions. The main entrance to the house is through the upper level where a Clear glass pivot door opens to a large grand foyer next to the main formal lounge that shares an open kitchen, formal dining room and guest bedroom. In this same level the house has a rumpus room, family room, bedroom with a bathroom and walk-in wardrobe.

Walk through the front door to an amazing open plan area that is designed specifically to take in the breathtaking views. The enormous concertina doors that separate inside from out open completely to change the space into one large luxurious area.

The house is positioned within the slope of the site allowing for the house to sit within the planning controls of height in relation to boundary. It also allows the house to be positioned similar to other houses on the street. The positioning also allows the house to relate to the natural contours of the land and the longitudinal, main focus of the house to the mountain views and a connection to the sun at the north and west connections off the main living areas.
